Askham Bryan Wildlife Park

We have a fantastic school trip to the wildlife park on our first day back for our last half term in Year 1!

Roller Bikes

We had a great morning competing in the Roller bikes competition for Our Year Wakefield

DT 

We are looking forward to making our tuna salads as part of food project in Design and Technology. We enjoyed tasting a variety of different salad products and deciding which we would like to include in our salad.

International Dance Day

We had a fantastic time learning a dance routine with Freedom to Dance for International dance day.

Spring 2 

Easter Bonnets 

We had some fantastic designs for our Easter Bonnets this year and the children could not wait to show their friends all of their hard work.

Science Week

World Book Day

We loved dressing up as our favourite book character for World Book Day and visiting our town library.

Spring 1 

Forest School

We have really enjoyed our forest school sessions with our forest school coach this half term!

Autumn 2 

Our Christmas Party

We had a fantastic time at our Christmas party. We enjoyed dancing, playing party games and eating our party food.

Christmas Spirit! 

We have been getting into the Christmas spirit this December. We have enjoyed decorating our class Christmas tree and loved having our parents and family members in school to help create different Christmas crafts with us!

Rasta Claus

We enjoyed our special visit from Rasta Claus where we learnt how it is important "To give a likkle back" We also enjoyed wearing our Christmas Jumpers 

Computing - Programming Beebots 

We have been learning how to use algorithms (clear instructions) to help us program a beebot to move around a map

Children in Need

We loved dressing up for Children in Need and helping to raise money for an amazing charity!

Remembrance Day

Mrs Cambell very kindly brought in lots of artefacts to show us to help us to develop our understanding of Remembrance Day. On Friday we showed our respect by having two minutes silence at 11am.

Forest School

We really enjoy our Forest School sessions!

Autumn 1 

Computing in Year One

One of our favourite lessons this half term has been Computing. We have enjoyed labelling the different features of a laptop and developing our computing skills including  logging on, using a touch pad and being able to save our work.

PE in Year One

We have really enjoyed our PE lessons this half term both with Miss Braime and our Sports Coach Matty!

Our first week in Year One!
