Marvellous Me

Marvellous Me is a simple app that helps to share wonderful news about your child’s learning and positive behaviour. We will also use it to send reminders and to share useful information. Please check this app regularly to ensure you are up to date on all events, information and rewards.

Tapestry

Tapestry is an online learning journal where we will be documenting your child's 'wow' moments whilst in school. Parents are able to send us observations and photos from home too. There is no "wrong" thing to send from home as we love seeing all the things you do!

Useful Information

Reading

In the first few weeks of your child's reading journey in Reception, your child will bring home a wordless book to give them the opportunity to get use to holding a book, flicking through pages and discussing images.

The document below provides some advice and tips for sharing a wordless picture book with your child.

In the following weeks, all children will come home with a sound blending book, alongside a book or worksheet in line with your child's phonics group. For more information on how our books progress, please read the document attached below.

Children will need their book bags at school every Friday so that we can change reading books. At home, we ask for your support to help your child practice their reading and make a note of what they have read in their reading record.

  Snack Time

In Reception all children are offered a fruit snack everyday. All children have access to their water bottles throughout the day. Water bottles must contain water or flavoured water- no juice please!

If you would like your child to have milk this can be paid for via the school gateway app. Please contact the office for any further assistance.

Indoor Shoes

Children will need a pair of indoor shoes to change in to at school. These can be pumps or slippers.
