Week Beginning 18th October21 October 2021 (by admin) |
We have had another great week in Reception this week. We finished the story Cottonwool Colin and learnt some brilliant words which we can use in the classroom such as "bold" and "bedraggled". The children have remembered what these words mean and we have tried to use them in our everyday life e.g. I was bedraggled when I came in from the rain.
In Maths this week we have been learning about pattern. We made repeating patterns in the Lego and also by printing using potatoes. e.g. red, green, red, green. See if your child can create a pattern at home.
We loved performing our Harvest songs on Thursday. Our video is up on the website so make sure you have a look at our wonderful singing and dancing. It can be found on this link: https://www.wheldoninfants.co.uk/parents-1/events. We have also added some Harvest Festival photos in the gallery on this link for you to have a look at. https://www.wheldoninfants.co.uk/parents/reception-miss-cummings/photo-gallery-4
In phonics we have learnt the sounds: th, z and ch. See if your child can practice these at home. We have sent some phonics activities for you to have a go at with your child over half term, there is more information on Marvellous Me about this.
